Beginner Locksmith Class and Test 2025
8am-5pm Each Day
Teaching will be on basic locksmithing: keys,
knobs, deadbolts, duplicating machines, safes
cars, every aspect of Locksmithing.
You will be provided everything you need to learn the Locksmith
trade. You will be given a hands on test and a 150 question
on the 5th day. If you pass all your skills and written exam, you
will be awarded a certificate that you will need to turn a copy into the
State Board AESBL to receive a license for locksmithing.
AESBL requires background check within ten business days
after employment with an alarm or locksmith company.
They have 6 months to take class and pass test.

Proficiency Certification Advancement
With every class you take with The Alabama Locksmith Association you earn elective points toward Certification.
The first level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Licensed Locksmith (ACLL).
The second level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Professional Locksmith (ACPL)
An ACPL has earned their ACLL, currently licensed, and has succeeded in an additional 15 elective categories, with a minimum of 2 classes in automotive, residential and commercial.
The Highest Level of Locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Master Locksmith (ACML).
An ACML has reached the highest level of Alabama Locksmith Association Proficiency Registration Program, with a additional 2 classes in automotive and residential and commercial.

Introduction into Safe Lock Installation and Servicing
(Group 2 Lock)

You don’t want to miss out on this 8-hour class! This class will consist of basic introduction of group 2 safe locks installation and servicing. You will be given a hands-on approach on group 2 mechanical locks for servicing and how to change combinations. We will explore different brands, pros and cons of each, and have the age-old conversation mechanical vs electronic locks.

Safe Trouble Shooting and Opening Techniques
Instructor: James Portie, CPL 8am-5pm
This 8-hour class will discuss the basic safe trouble shooting and opening techniques for a group 2 mechanical lock and explorer options to open electronic locks on common safe brands. We will discuss different tools required to open most common (box store lower quality) safes. We will also have safes on site to show different opening techniques and allow students to get hands-on experience.

BMW Key Programming with ACDP -
Everything you need to know about making keys to BMW vehicles with ACDP however other tools will be discussed such as Abrites, VVDI2, Autohex and others. Basic module eeproming, soldering and handling protocols will be discussed which is useful if other tools are used. Also hands on with BMW modules or vehicles, vehicle availability and weather permitting. Automotive Tips and Tricks - Where codes are, where to get them, how to do it without codes, what equipment does what best, licensing, ethics NASTF, AESBL, Alabama Locksmith Association, pricing, outfitting a van and basic hands on on a couple of vehicles or actual locks from vehicles.
